Nintendo have been busy making games for their
new Wii control and another one has hit the shelf in the form of Wii
play, we have now tested this out and would like to tell you what we
think.
Wii Play is gives you a choice of 9 mini games
to play, these are: Shooting Range, Find Mii, Table Tennis, Pose
Mii, Laser Hockey, Billiards, Fishing, Charge and the excellent
Tanks. While these games don't tend to be very long in length, they
are very entertaining when playing with a friend, you also have to
consider that you get a Wii remote as well as these mini games for
£35 and considering it is £30 for a Wii remote then this game is
only really costing you £5 which is great value.

The first game we tried out was
Shooting Range were you shoot balloons, targets, tin cans, clay
pigeons and flying saucers (which you have to shoot down before they
kidnap your Mii). Shooting Range is quality and great fun to play,
it is also satisfying when get good you manage to hit targets with
your first shot.
The next game on the list is Find Mii which is
basically a game that in the beginning has you finding the two
lookalike's amongst a crowd, as the game goes on this will change
meaning you will have to find the odd one out etc and later on it
gets even more challenging by having you find them with a spot
light, this is fun at first but does grow old quick.
Table Tennis and Laser Hockey are both similar
as you use the remote as a paddle to bat the ball/puck, both are
self explanatory and good fun to play, although we had more fun
playing Laser Hockey as it feels fast and frantic and is great
entertainment, although Table Tennis probably requires more skill to
play.
Pose Mii is a bit of an odd game, here you try
to get your Mii into the poses on the screen, which are embedded
into bubbles, before they reach the water below, the only thing is
that they can be in any position from sideways to upside down, so
this can be quite a challenging game and again is good fun to play.

Billiards is one of the games we enjoyed the
most, it takes a while to get used to but once you have the hang of
it then you will be potting the balls in every pocket, basically to
use the cue you aim with the D-Pad and then press B and then use the
remote like a cue to hit the ball, this is great and really adds to
the experience of the game, no other console can offer this
interactivity.
Next up is Fishing which enables you to use
your remote to catch some fish, all you need to do is use your
remote to lower your fishing rod into the water, move it forward and
back to reach either side then tilt the remote up to raise your rod
once you get a bite. Your goal is basically to catch as many fish as
possible in the time limit, it is good fun playing this game with a
friend as you try to out fish them by catching bigger and better
fish.
Charge! is a racing game involving cows and
scarecrows, to play you hold the remote horizontally and then tilt
it left and right as you race along slamming into scarecrows along
the way, to speed up you tip the control forward and flick up to
jump over fences, this game is very addictive and you will be going
back to play it all the time, we can't stop.
The last game is Tanks in which you use the nunchuck to control the
movement of your tank, you then rumble along through the mazes,
blowing up your enemy with your turrets and mines, we are having
great fun playing this game as the controls are responsive and very
easy to use.
Wii Play is an essential purchase for the Wii,
it comes with a Wii remote which is reason enough to buy it and
while the games aren't great in depth they are very entertaining to
play and excellent fun. Our advise is buy this now if you need an
extra remote because you will not regret it.
