Dr Herbert is your typical scientist, busy working for a huge worldwide company, happily researching on multi million dollar projects. However when the company get greedy and fire him so they can get at his wonderful inventions, Dr Herbert loses it and does what any true scientist would do, go mad and seek revenge. Before the company can get to him, Dr Herbert plugs himself into his newest creation and becomes a glowing mass of energy, able to control great elemental power and wreak havoc.

The idea of the Elements of Destruction is to destroy as much as possible within the set time limit with all of the powers at your disposal. However rather than let you just unleash all hell (which surprisingly would get boring after a while) the game has sub tasks in each level. These involve simple criteria like taking down a certain amount of shops or mansions, plus once you have done these tasks you then have to earn enough damage points to earn a bronze, silver or gold damage medal. The elements at your disposal are quite impressive and each one is mapped to a face button. To use each element there is a short minigame you must complete which will then let you unleash the full power. These are very simple to pull off and add a bit more to the game play, to release an earthquake you need to bash a button as fast as possible, for lightning you need well timed pushes and the twister is unleashed by rotating the Left Stick.

To stop you from causing too much damage your ex-employer have sent out their best men, in their quest to stop you they will bombard you with tanks, a plane that drops bombs into your twister and coils that stop your lightning. As you get hit and use your powers you will use up your energy, this is easily increased though with the addition of energy buildings and also the destruction of local houses which release small amounts of power.

The level of destruction is very satisfying and after a few games you will begin to pickup extra upgrades for your powers and also learn how to destroy multiple targets with well placed earthquakes. The game is shown from a birds eye view, allowing you to quickly move around the towns and the inclusion of a sensibly colour coded in game map makes this very easy to navigate.

Elements of destruction is a very fun title to play and with the inclusion of online and co-op destruction you are sure to have a blast with this title.
