SINGSTAR MOTOWN
We check out Singstar Motown for PS3.

Posted by Joe Anderson on Sep 22, 2009 11:38 (180 days ago)

Singstar returns to our PS3’s again this month, this time with Motown as its theme, which will no doubt please those who can get enough of the likes a Marvin Gaye and The Jackson Five. But what about the rest of us? Does this game offer enough for us to get excited about?

As usual Singstar Motown follows the theme of previous Singstar PS3 games, bringing with it all the functionality you would expect from the Online Singstore and My Singstar sections to the all new voice control and video edit functions, though you are required to visit the Singstore to download the last feature mentioned as it has only just been released.

The main game outside of the songs and the new Mowtown style wallpaper is of course identical to the other games in the series, therefore any songs which you have downloaded previously will appear in the main menu alongside the new disc based songs. As you would expect you are able to play any way you wish, be this by singing Solo, as a Duet or in a Battle.

So on to the main difference on this disc, the songs. Singstar Motown certainly brings quite a few new artists to the table as far as the Singstar series is concerned, therefore you will find yourself singing along to Artists and Songs such as It Takes Two and Let’s Get It On by Marvin Gaye, ABC by The Jackson Five and My Destiny by Lionel Richie.

There are thirty tracks on the disc all in, though there are quite a few tracks by the same artists. Overall though this disc brings the usual quality you would expect from the Singstar series, therefore if you like Motown you will not be disappointed should you splash your cash on this game.
