WACKY WORLD OF SPORTS![]() Posted by Joe Anderson on Sep 26, 2009 13:33 (176 days ago) |

There are certainly plenty of Sports games on the Wii, and indeed some of them are quite wacky but none of them match up to Sega’s latest title, Wacky World of Sport.
Wacky World of Sport is basically a collection of some of the world's oddest sports and I do mean odd. Events in the game include Tuna Tossing, Cheese Rolling, Lawn Mower Racing, Mud Sliding and a whole lot more, it sounds extremely bizarre and it most definitely is.
![]() All in there are ten mini games to play, either in the Tour Mode or in Party Mode. Tour Mode is of course the main focus in which up to three players can choose one of four characters to play as. The Tour Mode sees you aim to win tour points in order to unlock new characters, progress the story and finally work your way to the final event against the tour boss. The Party Mode meanwhile allows you to jump straight in and take part in free play, meaning that you can play any of the mini games you wish, or you can opt for the circuit option which basically allows you to choose three to five events to take part in.
All of the events in Wacky World of Sport use just the Wii Remote, making the game very accessible but also not very challenging. Playing games is your standard affair involving a lot of waggling, holding the remote Mario Kart style or using other gestures to beat the game. It’s all very similar to most Wii games in this respect and to be honest it does get very tedious very quickly.
Whatever event you play in it is all very uninspired really, which is a shame because at least this game tries to bring something new to the world of mini sports games on the Wii. When it comes down to it though, Wacky World of Sports is just yet another mini sports compilation and not a very good one at that.
Wacky World Of Sports is lacking in events, uninspiring and fails to offer enough incentive for you to go back and play once you have been through all of the mini games even once. It may be fun for children at first but once the novelty wares off it will just end up on the shelf never to be played again, much like most other Wii titles.
