You may have seen our previous list which gave our tips for the top Playstation games this Xmas, well now we continue the series, this time focusing on the Xbox 360, which has a range of excellent titles both on disc and via the Xbox Live Arcade.
So we present to you our:
Top Xbox 360 Games for Xmas
Xbox Live Arcade
![]() Peggle (Review)
One of the most addictive games on Xbox Live, once you start shooting those orange pegs you won’t be able to stop. It’s addictive, fun and fairly cheap too.
Shadow Complex (Review)
One of the most original and polished games on Xbox Live Arcade. This game is from the makers of Gear of War and you can tell, taking the guise of side scrolling shooter, it offers plenty of challenged, loads of weapons and some great arcade based fun.
Braid (Review)
A very original Arcade title which sees you solving puzzles by reversing and rewinding time. The art style is simply outstanding and the gameplay very unique. This is certainly a title that everyyone should consider.
Worms 2 Armageddon (Review)
The idea may be old but Worms never grows old. Customise you Worms and then blow each others teams up using a vast amount of bizarre and ridiculous weapons. This game is best played with friends or via Xbox Live to get the most out of it.
Summary
There are literally hundreds of quality games available via Xbox Live Arcade, therefore whether you are into puzzle games, action or sports there is bound to be something for you. Given that Xbox Live Arcade has demos available for almost all of its games we suggest you try before you buy to get the most out of your Xbox Live Points.
Xbox 360
![]() Modern Warfare 2 (Review)
Of course this is here, this game was made for the Xbox 360 with a solid online mode, great graphics and even though the single payer will not take long to complete the Special Ops gives so much more.
Borderlands (Review)
Considering I am petrified about joining a MMORPG on the PC this made perfect middle ground with the classic first person shooter action, a huge amount of ranking up and collecting weapons and cash. The multiplayer makes for some classic gaming moments and the unique style set it apart from the rest if the pack. My game if the year.
Left 4 Dead 2 (Review)
Though relatively new this sequel has already surpassed the outstanding original with some great new levels, loads of new weapons, grotesque special infected and a wicked AI Director.
Halo ODST (Review)
Whilst it didn't set the world on fire, this prequel to Halo 3 is a solid Halo title that plays more like a best of, but considering how good the other games are this is great fun.
Batman Arkham Asylum (Review)
After years of sub-par comic based games this came as a surprise, taking in all of the Batman mythos (sans Robin) and giving us a visually stunning beat-em-up that you can't put down. Great bosses and gadgets plus the challenge rooms will keep you busy for ages. Has a lot to thank Metroid for.
Forza Motorsport 3 (Review)
Without a doubt the best racing game on the market. It’s ultra realistic graphics and the brilliant customization mode makes this a game that no racing fan should be without. Simply outstanding stuff.
Summary
Though lacking on exclusives this year there is still a rich back catalogue available on Xbox 350 with classics you can pick up cheap like Dead Rising, Crackdown, Lips, Gears of War 2, Lost Odyssey and GTAIV.
