AQ Interactive have told 1UP that production on their next Xbox 360 RPG, Cry On has now stopped.

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi was said to be producing the game along with Kimihiko Fujisaka, who was responsible for designing the characters and Nobuo Uematsu signed up to provide the music, however AQI said it decided to cancel development "after analysing the current market environment and forecasts for the future".

The statement concluded, "We deeply apologise for troubling those who were awaiting its release."

So there you go, could the lack of interest in the Xbox 360 in Japan be to blame?
