Microsoft have announced that sales of Xbox 360 have now reached 28 million.
Speaking in the LA Times, executive Aaron Greenberg said, "This was the best year in the history of the Xbox, despite the tough economy."
The report states that Sony has sold around 20 million units of it’s PlayStation 3 console globally, while the Xbox 360, which was released a year earlier than it’s rival has reached the 28 million landmark.
It is not known if any of the consoles which developed the dreaded RROD have been included in these figures, after all there was quite a big failure rate at one point (we went through three ourselves and have paid for two of them).
Sony will no doubt respond to these reports with their own version of sales at some point this week, so let the spin it our way battle commence.
