SONY SCRAP EIGHT DAYS AND THE GETAWAY
Sony cease production of Eight Days and The Getaway to free up cash for other areas.

Posted by Joe Anderson on Jun 4, 2008 13:26 (Jun 4, 2008 13:26)

Sony have revealed today that they have now ceased production on Eight Days and The Getaway for Playstation 3. The cash put away for development will now be redistributed to other areas within the games division.

Sony said of the decision, "It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget,".

"This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion."

Eight Days in particular was looking like it could be a pretty decent game if it lived up to the trailers shown at E3 a few years back, however it’s not to be, so looks like it’s time to move on and cast your eyes to all the other first party exclusives in the horizon.
