Sony have announced today via their official forums that they are taking the SingStar service off-line briefly to apply a minor maintenance fix on Thursday morning.

Once the service is back up there will be a small download when you next connect to SingStar Online.

The download brings the following updates to SingStar:

• Singer selection names for duet songs has been fixed
• Occasional issue with note display drawing corrected
• Occasional problem with 1st golden note of a song not appearing has been fixed
• The news panel seen in the online section when you’re not connected has been updated
