CVG have reported that Grand Theft Auto IV has become the most profitable entertainment release of all-time, surpassing all other video game, film and book releases.Ever.

The gaming website states "Figures show that GTA IV sold 3.6 million units on the first day of release, earning $310 million in the process". The previous record for mo held by Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, which managed to make $220 million in its initial twenty-four hours, while Halo 3 was previously the biggest gaming launch, making £170 million on launch.

This will come as no surprise to many, but it’s still pretty impressive, don’t you think?
