Sony have today revealed that they sold 9.24 million PS3 consoles in their last financial year, which ended in March 2008.

This now brings the total worldwide PS3 figure to 12.81 million units sold, add the 13.9 million PSP sales and the impressive 13.73 PS2 sales and of course games sales and you can see why Sony made 12.2 Billion US dollars from their computer entertainment division.

Interestingly the games division at Sony is still running at a slight loss however with decreasing hardware costs and some rather tasty exclusives coming to the PS3 this is expected to change soon.
