Three games for Virual Console
Posted by wotta, 189 days ago May 30, 2008 14:15

As well as the Nintendo Channel being available to download for free Today through the Wii Shop Channel, Virtual Console also has three new treats for retro gaming fans!

First up is Pokémon Puzzle League, this brain teasing title will put your Pokémon battling and puzzling skills to the test against the best Trainers in the Puzzle League Village! To succeed you’ll need quick wits and fast fingers to match up coloured blocks and clear all puzzle pieces. But beware if the blocks reach the top of the playfield, it’s all over! Playing against a friend or the CPU, string together huge combos or chain reactions to unleash powerful attacks on your opponent to win badges and become a Pokémon Puzzle Master! As well as battling, many other exciting challenges await you; from the 3D Puzzle Mode to the brain-busting exercises at Pokémon Puzzle University. You can download Pokémon Puzzle League for 1000 Wii Points…

Next up, NeoGeo classic Samurai Shodown hits Virtual Console. Featuring twelve swordsmen, each with highly individual characteristics, this 1993 sword swinging game puts all fighting skills to the test as battle commences to confront Amakusa Shiro Tokisada. Samurai fans can also make use of the unique anger gauge that indicates the level of anger felt by each swordsman. If a blow breaks through defences and the anger level reaches its maximum capacity, attacking abilities increase making it possible to enjoy more intense confrontations! You can download Samurai Shodown for 900 Wii Points.

Also available this week is 1991 SNK classic, Burning Fight. Hitting the streets of Japan in this NeoGeo title, take on the role of detectives Duke, Billy or Ryu as they all track down huge crime syndicate, Casterora. Having followed the gang from New York to Osaka, use skill and timing to combine punches, kicks and jumps and rid the streets of Casterora members once and for all. With a range of lethal techniques at their disposal, players can unleash enormous destructive forces, however use them with caution! They use large amounts of energy and can also harm allies in multiplayer mode, so always use them strategically! Burning Fight is available to download for 900 Wii Points.
