Harmonix and EA announced today that Rock Band 2 will hit store shelves in America for the Xbox 360 on September 14th. Versions of the game for other consoles, including the PS3 will be available in October. The new wireless drum kit will hit stores later in the week.

The game allows the importation of most every song from the original game, including DLC tracks. New features include online world tour, Battle of the Bands, auto-calibration for the TV, wireless drums with quieter velocity sensitive heads and support for up to 3 cymbals. Advanced voice detection technology is also integrated. One nice mode for beginners is a no fail mode.
