Xbox 360 fans in Europe can now join others around the world in the fight against the Locust thanks to the Last Day minisite which has been launched as part of a viral campaign set up to promote Gears of War 2.
Basically by visiting the site you can view an image and then by clicking the small red COG button, you have the ability to enter a COG ID number, these numbers can be attained from various sources, so check around the web (or check the links below). When tried by ourselves, entering codes only seemed to unlock various icons which you can save you to your computer, we are unsure of their use as yet but they look about the size of the Xbox 360 avatar. After entering a certain amount of COG tags, the next piece of the website then unlocks, revealing a little bit more of the Gears universe.
Having scrolled through the links below it seems that finding and entering the codes was phase one of the viral campaign, while phase II seems to be finding tags at certain map co-ordinates (check this link), this is backed up by a quote we found on six okay’s twitter which reveals that "COG tags are being hidden around the world from now until Nov. 7, and just like in “Gears of War,” you need a keen eye to spot them".
