Sony have told Gamesindustry.biz today that the PlayStation 3 has sold over one million units in the UK.

The console was released in the UK on March 23 last year, meaning that it reached this milestone quicker than the Playstation 2 and the Xbox 360.

Sony revealed in June 2007 that sales had hit the one million mark across the whole of Europe in just nine and a half weeks.

Since sales have started to increase, the negative press which was surrounding the console seems to be turning positive, which means a lot of red faces for some journalists out there.
