There is a lot of rumours flying around today regarding a price cut for the Xbox 360 and sites such as the respectable MCV seem pretty convinced that this could happen on 14th March.
Rumours suggest that Microsoft’s Arcade model could be in line to recieve a new price of £170, bringing it in line with Nintendo’s Wii console. Nothing has been mentioned regarding the Premium and Elite models but presumably these will also recieve a significant cut in price.
One trade source told MCV: “A few publishers have confirmed the news to us, and we’re aware of some price movement is coming. The major chain retailers have all been told.”
Unfortunately Microsoft declined to comment on the cut, telling MCV: “We don’t comment on rumour and speculation.” Although it is no surprise they haven’t commented as this would stop people from purchasing the console until after this date.
We will of course keep you up to date on this news, but in the meantime why not let us know your thoughts on this by leaving a comment below or by discussing this in our forum.
